Welcome to the Home & School Association
HSA Mission:
To promote the welfare of New Hope-Solebury Elementary students in home, school and the community. To bring into close relationship the community, the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of the student. To cooperate with parents, administrators, board directors, and teachers in activities which would promote the educational quality of our school.

HSA is comprised of parents just like you. If you have a child in a New Hope-Solebury Elementary School, then you are an automatic member of HSA since it covers both the Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary Schools.

What We Do:
It's not surprising that many parents don't know what HSA is--they are most familiar with PTA, the acronym for the Parent Teacher Association. Well, HSA is just like the PTA but with a different moniker. What are some of the HSA's activities? We:
  • Raise funds for the school and plan fun events for families affiliated with New Hope-Solebury Elementary (NH-S).
  • Fund Assemblies and Author Visits your children experience, Artists in Residence, Field Day, Oktoberfest and Support For Teachers via both the yearly stipend to each teacher and through our wonderful new Grant Program.
  • Contributed to the opening of the UES by purchasing technology and other start up needs over the last two years..
  • Spearheaded and paid for half of the new ROCK WALL in the UES GYM (the kids raised the other half!).
  • Work with the LES Staff to fund additional equipment and other needs to meet our children's needs.

Have you noticed the wonderful Banners hanging in each school? The HSA provided these. These are a just a few real examples of HSA fundraising. NH-S has been able to offer these programs and activities year after year because of HSA's support.  Besides funding for these important projects, the HSA also coordinates many FAMILY FUN NIGHTS for our families. Roller Skating, Pizza Bingo, Trenton Thunder Night and many more!

Everyone knows that schools are a better place when parents are engaged in their child's school.  Whether your child is just starting kindergarten or is a returning student, please consider getting involved.  Think about it this way--not only will volunteering in your child's school benefit your kids, it could benefit your social and professional life as well: there's no better place to network than at a school filled with like-minded parents who are committed to their children.

Even if you can only help out with one event this year, HSA would like to hear from you.  Join us at one of our meetings on the first Wednesday of the month, and hear about all of the exciting things planned for the school year.  You DON"T have to attend the meetings to be involved.  Not sure what the right fit is for you.contact one of the HSA Officers and they'll be glad to help you find the perfect place for you to help out!  We GUARANTEE you'll get more out of it than you put in!
