What have you used with your students this year?
(See Mr. Smith to collaborate on a project using any of these technologies...
or let me know what you have in mind, and we’ll try something off the list.)
Project and Presentation Options Using Technology
Audacity - Sound Editor, Create audio projects, or add an audio component to an existing project
GarageBand - Sound Editor, Create audio projects, or add an audio component to an existing project, also add images (Mac Based)
Glogster- Online interactive posters- Video, sound and hyperlinks can be added too.
iMovie- Video editing software (Mac Based)
Inspiration - Students create idea webs and visual maps. Often used as a prewrite, but can also be a project in itself... ie. Bill to a Law
MovieMaker- Windows video editing software
PhotoStory 3- Quick and slideshows that can include text and voiceover components.
PowerPoint- Think outside of the linear progression that PowerPoint presentations typically have. See our students virtual museums to get an idea of the power that PowerPoint actually has.
Prezi- Think of Glogster meets Inspiration. Create presentations that zoom in and around a map to present your work.
Publisher- Nothing new here, but if you want to produce a brochure or menu, it’s still the best thing going.
SmartNotebook- Why not have the students create SmartNotebook projects that use the templates, galleries, linking, and multimedia capabilities found in the SmartNotebook software?
Wordle- Online tool for creating art with words. Type in the words you want displayed, or copy and paste from a text as a preread or warmup before a lesson.
