Science Olympiad:
Science Olympiad is extracurricular competition devoted to increasing science knowledge and promoting interest in science. The Science Olympiad tournament is a rigorous academic interscholastic competition that consists of a series of team events, which students prepare for in advance. These challenging and motivational events are well balanced between the various science disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics and technology. There is also a balance between events requiring knowledge of science concepts, process skills and science applications.

The team is comprised of students who are chosen based on interest and/or a commitment to the team. Only 15 students may compete in the Science Olympiad competition, but other students may help prepare for events. Announcements that Science Olympiad is starting are run on the morning announcements. Interested students should talk to Mr. Dykie in room 702 of the Middle School.  jdykie@nhsd.org
