Schools will be closed on Monday May 29 th in observance of Memorial Day.
Important Field Day Information:Field Day at NHS Elementary is EPIC! We go all out with theme-related field day to enhance the total experience for our students in grades K-5. Each year we als rent 3-4 rentals (Thanks HSA) based on our theme. Mr. DiTulio needs your help with our Wild, Wild West Field Day. Anyone who might be able to help us prepare for the big day on Thursday, May 25 would be greatly appreciated.
Wild, Wild West Field Day- is next Thursday, May 25. We encourage all students to dress for the western theme…Cowboy hats, bandanas, etc. Field Day t-shirts will go home next Tuesday. Please pack a healthy bagged lunch and a water bottle (name/class on it). Apply sunscreen at home and last but not least wear your field day t-shirt!

A bagged field day lunch is available for students to purchase, forms are due May 23.Strong Bodies Strong Minds: Our Spring Book Fair is right around the corner! We will be holding it at the Lahaska Book Shop in Peddler’s Village on Wednesday May 24, 6pm-8pm. There will be special guests, raffles, and 20% of the proceeds come back to the LES/UES libraries…to purchase NEW books. Check out the attached flyer and video for more information.
Special Education Family Forum: Our Special Education Family Forum meeting has been moved to Tuesday, May 23 at 5PM in the District Office or via Zoom. The meeting will recap our Mental Health Series webinar “Social Media: Protecting Your Child” and offer a Q&A opportunity.

Cafeteria Accounts: Please remember to pay off any negative balances on your child(ren)’s cafeteria account prior to the end of the school year. Need to know your child(ren)’s account balance? Please log onto SchoolCafe at www.schoolcafe.com or reach out to Shannon Stone at sstone@nhsd.org .
Yearbook sales are live! The price is $25 and you must order via Walsworth's online sales portal. To order a yearbook for your child go to www.yearbookforever.com. In the search box for "School Name," type: NHS LES. Our school will auto-populate underneath the search box. Click "Shop the Store" and follow the prompts to purchase a yearbook. The yearbook sale will be open until Friday, June 2nd. Order today!
REMINDERS
Accessible Parking: When arriving at our building, please do not block or park in the designated handicapped spaces for any reason unless you have a handicap placard displayed in your vehicle. We have students whose families need these spots on a daily basis. Please use the visitor parking spots for drop offs.Thank you for your cooperation.

Laptops: Please charge your laptop every night so your device is ready to bring in the next day.
Important! Car pick up and drop off: When dropping off and picking up through the car line, PLEASE STAY IN YOUR CAR. Do not come to the school in the afternoon for car pick up until 3:05. The gate is locked and our early arrivers block Sugan Road and our school entrance. Car pick up runs from 3:25-3:40 on the side of the building. Morning car drop off is from 8:25-8:44.
Dismissal Changes: You must send in a note if your child is staying after for a club or going home a different way. Please call or email the office by 12:00PM if your child's dismissal is different from routine.

Happening
HSA Donations: The HSA is preparing a contribution to Teacher Appreciation Week and Field Day and seeking monetary donations from families to support both events to help offset rising costs. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and can be sent via PayPal. Thank you for your help!
The Solebury Historical Association is looking for a volunteer to lead the first grade schoolhouse visit next school year in the fall. This is a rewarding opportunity without a large time commitment. For more information please email nhshsa.events@gmail.com
Mario the Maker Magician: The NHS Education Fund and Home and School Association (HSA) will host a pizza party and STEAM-inspired magic show with Mario the Maker Magician on Saturday, May 20 at 1PM in the HS Buck Theater. See a clip of the special guest and register for tickets here. Proceeds benefit the teacher grants and programs provided by the NHS Education Fund.
HS Boys Tennis Fundraiser: The HS Boys Tennis team will host a dine and donate fundraiser with Jersey Mike's next Wednesday, May 24 from 4-8PM. Proceeds support the team!
Field Hockey Camp: Students of all ages are welcome to participate in a summer Field Hockey Camp hosted by the Lions Field Hockey Team coaches and players from June 26-29. All the proceeds from camp go directly to the NHS Field Hockey Team to help offset team expenses.
