    Yom Kippur:  Schools will be closed on September 25 to observe the Yom Kippur holiday.

    Homework Club at the UES: Please see the attached flyer for more information for our homework club.  Homework club will be held on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

    Start of School Checklist: Please reference this helpful Start of School Checklist to assist you with ensuring you have fulfilled all requirements for your child(ren)’s school year. The document includes live links you will need to complete each item on the list.

    Note from the Nurse: If your student has a new injury that requires a cast, boot, sling, wrap, crutches, or has a concussion, we do need a note from their physician to return to school.  This note should include restrictions for PE, recess and any other school activity and include duration of restrictions.  If your student requires a medication at school, please review our medication guidelines here.
     
    Mobile Fingerprinting Event: Our district would like to offer a mobile fingerprinting event in partnership with Identogo as a convenience for parents/guardians interested to volunteer in our schools. The mobile fingerprinting is the only component of our required clearances that cannot be obtained fully online. Please complete this form to express your interest and to share your availability to participate. Note: We must meet a minimum number of participants for the event to be scheduled.

    A special announcement from Mrs. Marrone and Mrs. Whyte:
    Students who participated and handed in their the Math and/or Reading Challenge were celebrated today!  The students were called over the loud speaker for a photo op with their rewards and certificates.  We are thankful to Penn Community Bank for donating the bags of swag!  Also, 25 RANDOM BAGS held a free ticket to the Elmwood Park Zoo!  Congratulations to all of our participants.  We are so proud of you!

    Biking In PE: Please see the attached information regarding commonly asked questions about our biking unit in PE.  Also attached is the rules for wearing sneakers in class.

    UES Spirit Wear: Please click here for the link to order your UES spirit wear. Orders can be submitted up until Sunday, October 15th.

    UES Picture Day: Picture Day for the UES will be held on Wednesday, September 27th.  The online form is attached. 


    Reminders

    Absences/Tardy: Please send an email to UESattendance@nhsd.org,or a note in to the office if  you will be late, leaving early or absent.

    Cafeteria Accounts:Please remember to pay off any negative balances on your child(ren)’s cafeteria account prior to the end of the school year.

    Device Insurance: Families may opt to purchase an accidental insurance plan for district-issued devices at the cost of $50 for the school year via the Beginning of Year Forms in the Sapphire Community Portal now through September 30.

    Support our Home and School Association: We encourage all families to get involved and follow the programs provided by our amazing HSA! Ways you can help: Participate in their meetings and events, join their Facebook group, sign-up to volunteer for their events, or donate to support their programs.

    SAFETY AND HEALTH REMINDERS

    Whenever your child is experiencing symptoms of
    a communicable illness, please remember that students must be free of fever (without fever reducing medication), vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school. Thank you for helping to keep our school community safe and healthy.

    Happenings 

    Girls Basketball Clinic: Girls in Grades 1-8 are invited to join an afternoon of basketball with the Lions Girls Basketball team and Coach Steve Polinsky on Monday, November 20 from 12:30-3:00PM in the HS Gym.  Players will have the opportunity to develop basketball skills while having fun. LES students will be bussed to the UES after school.  All LES & UES students will be escorted to the High School gym from the UES.
     
    Girls Tennis Fundraiser: The Girls Tennis team hopes you will visit Owowcow Creamery in Lambertville, NJ on Friday, September 29 from 5-9PM. Enjoy yummy ice cream while supporting our Lions Girls Tennis team.

    Education Fund Barn Event: Join us on Saturday, September 23 for our Celebration at the Barn Event, a fun evening with great food and live music to support the NHS Education Fund, a non-profit organization that helps to fund extraordinary learning experiences for New Hope-Solebury students. Learn more about sponsorship opportunities and reserve tickets at www.nhsedfund.org. This event is expected to sell-out!

    Mental Health Night: Our district will host a virtual Mental Health Night in partnership with the Cook Center for Human Connection on Wednesday, September 27 at 7:00PM via Zoom. Anyone may join anonymously to learn parenting strategies that support mental health and the resources available from our district.

    Battle of the Bridges T-Shirts: Order your Battle of the Bridges “Pink Out” shirts for the Friday, October 20 Lions football game vs South Hunterdon. We are donating a percentage of our proceeds to the non-profits, Revive2Thrive and Kin. Join Lions Football in promoting Breast Cancer Awareness while supporting your favorite football team!  Go Lions!
