STEAM Expo: Students can earn their very own JEDI badge during our upcoming Star Wars-themed STEAM Expo on Thursday, May 4 starting at 5:00PM. See the brand-new STEAM wing technology in action, watch live demonstrations of our STEAM curriculum, and explore career and college opportunities with representatives from higher education and industry at the event.
St. Baldrick’s Community Fundraiser: Mark your calendars for the NHS community St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser on Saturday, May 13 at the UES from 10AM-4PM. Proceeds benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for pediatric cancer research. Adults and kids can participate by shaving your head or by donating 8” of your own hair. There will also be games, raffles, and food trucks for a day of fun for the whole family. The day also includes the Robert Nagg Memorial Soccer Game on the NHS Stadium Field.

Spring Choral Concert: Please join us for our spring choir concert, A Trip Around the World, on Thursday, May 11 at 7:30PM in the Buck Theater. The choirs will be performing pieces from across the globe and in different languages, exhibiting multicultural instruments, and performing folk dances.
High School Boys Basketball Organizational Meeting: Students in grades 8-11 and their families are invited to an informational meeting for those interested in the 2023/24 HS Boys Basketball team on Monday, May 15 at 5:30PM in the HS Library. Coach Connors will discuss upcoming Open Gym and Summer League opportunities.
Mental Health Series: Our district will host another session “Social Media: Protecting Your Child By Staying Aware and Involved” on Tuesday, May 16 at 7PM as part of our Mental Health Series in partnership with the Cook Center for Human Connection. Visit our website to access the registration link and a recording of our previous session, “Your Child’s Anxiety.”
Mario the Maker Magician: The NHS Education Fund and Home and School Association (HSA) will host a pizza party and STEAM-inspired magic show with Mario the Maker Magician on Saturday, May 20 at 1PM in the HS Buck Theater. See a clip of the special guest and register for tickets here. Proceeds benefit the teacher grants and programs provided by the NHS Education Fund.
Field Hockey Camp: Students of all ages are welcome to participate in a summer Field Hockey Camp hosted by the Lions Field Hockey Team coaches and players from June 26-29. All the proceeds from camp go directly to the NHS Field Hockey Team to help offset team expenses.

SAFETY AND HEALTH REMINDERWhenever your child is experiencing symptoms of a communicable illness, please remember that students must be free of fever (without fever reducing medication), vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school. Thank you for helping to keep our school community safe and healthy.
