Half Day: Friday, December 1 is the end of our first trimester. We will dismiss at 12 Noon. Thursday, December 14 and Friday, December 15 are also half days for conferences.

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the LES…Get excited! It will run from Monday, December 4 to Thursday, December 7. Your child will visit during their regularly scheduled library lesson time on Monday and Tuesday. Read the Scholastic Book Fair letter here with all of the details.
LES Holiday Shop: The Holiday Shop is returning to the LES December 11-13, 2023 with shopping taking place during the school day. An envelope will be coming home in backpacks next week with more information.
PE Reminder: Please remind your child to wear sneakers during Physical Education for their safety. No flip flops, crocs, sandals, dress shoes, rain boots, UGGs, etc. are to be worn.
Laptops: Please charge your laptop every night so your device is ready to bring in the next day.
Important! Car pick up and drop off: When dropping off and picking up through the car line, PLEASE STAY IN YOUR CAR. Do not come to the school in the afternoon for car pick up until 3:05. The gate is locked and our early arrivers block Sugan Road and our school entrance. Car pick up runs from 3:25-3:40 on the side of the building. Morning car drop off is from 8:25-8:44.
Dismissal Changes: You must send in a note if your child is staying after for a club or going home a different way. Please call or email the office by 12:00PM if your child's dismissal is different from routine.

Volunteers: Valid clearances are required to volunteer during school hours and a number of daytime volunteer opportunities still remain this school year, including December's Holiday Shop. Clearances are valid for five years and will be checked prior to every event to ensure student safety. Information on obtaining and submitting clearances is available here.

NHS Education Fund STAR Program: The NHS Education Fund’s STAR Program is a wonderful way to recognize an outstanding NHSD teacher or staff member while also supporting extraordinary learning experiences for all NHS students. Make a donation to the Education Fund in honor of your STAR, and they will receive a special certificate to acknowledge your contribution. STAR recognitions are due before Wednesday, December 20.
