Our sixth-grade Lions recently explored Old City, Philadelphia, through an engaging scavenger hunt that complemented the Yellow Fever Walking Tour. The activity provided a hands-on way for students to explore the historical context of Fever 1793, their current English class novel. As students walked the same streets described in the book, they deepened their understanding of the city’s rich history and the real events that inspired the story. The experience allowed students to make meaningful connections between literature and history—all while having fun discovering the landmarks of Philadelphia’s past.
A huge thank-you goes to trip leads Ms. Heather Derby, Ms. Michele Hamill, and the entire 6th-grade team for coordinating a meaningful and memorable learning experience for our students!
