New Hope-Solebury School District is proud to officially launch its inaugural Lions Link Mentorship Program, a new student leadership initiative designed to support eighth graders as they prepare for the exciting transition to high school.
The program pairs current eighth graders with current juniors, creating meaningful connections that help soon-to-be freshmen feel supported, confident, and welcomed before they begin high school. Through these relationships, students can ask questions, gain real student perspective, and get to know a friendly face before their freshman year begins.
Students will meet 10 times across this spring and next year, ensuring support continues both before and during the first year of high school. This week marked the official 'meet and greet' for the small groups, where students had an opportunity for introductions and to get conversations started.
For current juniors, Lions Link provides an opportunity to strengthen leadership skills while modeling the District’s Profile of a Graduate characteristics, including empathy, collaboration, communication, and responsibility.
A big thank you to both the Middle and High School Staff for their leadership and organization. This program is a wonderful example of collaboration and connection between our middle and high schools, helping ensure every student feels connected, prepared, and ready to thrive.
