STEM competitors

New Hope-Solebury students proudly participated in the historic U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps Homecoming 250, an event five years in the making that celebrated innovation, service, and STEAM education.

As part of the Homecoming 250 STEM Competition, students showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills—designing everything from sailboats and submarines to innovative solutions for real-world naval challenges. The event, held at the Innovation Pavilion at Cherry Street Pier in Philadelphia, featured exhibits from the Navy and Marine Corps and opportunities for students to connect with engineers and STEM professionals.

Projects were judged by members of the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery and the U.S.S. Arlington crew, with awards presented by top-ranking Navy and Marine Corps officers including Rear Admiral Rick Freedman, Deputy Chief Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, Deputy Surgeon General of the Navy, Director of Medical Resources, Plans and Policy Division, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Major General Ryan Rideout, Commanding General, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, and Major General Kelliher, Office of Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Director of Reserve Affairs.

Our Lions had a fantastic showing—representing New Hope-Solebury’s commitment to hands-on STEAM learning and inspiring future careers in science, technology, and engineering.
