The New Hope-Solebury School District, a nationally recognized school district composed of New Hope Borough and Solebury Township in the eastern part of Bucks County recognized for excellence, has announced Mrs. Ellen Stiefel as its newest member to the board of directors. Elected and sworn into service during the October board meeting, Mrs. Stiefel will complete the term formally held by Ms. Deirdre Alderfer, who announced her departure from the board last month.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Stiefel to the board,” shared Mrs. Judy Finn, board president. “Mrs. Stiefel brings forth a passion for education, a background in finance, and a commitment for supporting our district’s success as we continue to best meet the needs of our community’s children.”
Mrs. Stiefel has a long-standing history with the district, with children currently attending as well as a child who has graduated. In addition, she has served on the district’s financial advisory committee for the past twelve years.
“Mrs. Stiefel offers a unique perspective to the board with her deep roots in our school system, as well as our community,” stated Dr. Charles Lentz, New Hope-Solebury School District superintendent. “I look forward to the continued success of our schools under the leadership of our outstanding board.”
The New Hope-Solebury School District Board is a legislative body whose authority is defined by the Pennsylvania School Code. The Board’s function is to provide oversight to ensure a thorough and efficient education for the children of its District and to develop policies to support meeting this objective.
