Mental Health Services and Resources Overview

School Counselors, School Social Workers and School Psychologists provide the vast majority of school-based mental health services. They are specially trained in school system functioning and learning, as well as how students’ behavior and mental health impacts their ability to be successful in school.

Our NHSD Mental Health Professionals work to actively support the physical, emotional and mental health of students. The physical, emotional and physical well-being of a student is critical to their academic success and future accomplishments. Ongoing and focused K-12 initiatives promote healthy choices and reduce risk-taking behaviors are developed and implemented with collaboration and support from students, teachers, parents and our community.
