The New Hope-Solebury School District (NHSD) has issued a statement regarding the consideration of paid public parking in the District.
At the Board of School Directors meeting on April 24, 2025, the Board confirmed that several prerequisites must be met before the Board would even consider a vote on the initiative. These include, but may not be limited to:
Obtaining a variance from New Hope Borough’s Zoning Hearing Board; and
Establishing a board-approved policy detailing the financial and operational framework for implementation.
To facilitate the process, a special committee comprised of various stakeholders, including booster club representatives and community members, will develop recommendations and present them to the Board’s facilities, policy, and finance committees; and eventually, a comprehensive plan will be presented to the full Board for its approval.
As a first step in the process, the Board has approved ParkMobile as its vendor, should the plan proceed. Additionally, New Hope Borough Council has approved a memorandum of understanding between the District and New Hope Borough. Approval is still needed from New Hope Borough’s Zoning Hearing Board, which will consider the District’s initiative at its May 8, 2025, meeting.
The District will keep the community apprised of further developments as the process moves forward.
