New Hope-Solebury School District (NHSD) has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for outstanding support and commitment to music education for the 12th year in a row.

The Best Communities for Music Education designation, now in its 26th year, is awarded to districts demonstrating outstanding achievement in providing music access and education to all students. This recognition highlights programs across the country that demonstrate the highest commitment to providing high-quality music education.

"The music program at New Hope-Solebury School District is truly exceptional," Superintendent Dr. Charles Lentz stated. "Thanks to the dedication of our music teachers, the support of our board, and the engagement of our community, we provide our students with a robust, hands-on curriculum, while also offering a tailored learning experience for those who wish to explore music more deeply."

Matteo Cademartori, a junior who serves as a student representative on the New Hope-Solebury School Board of Directors, shared, “I have had an amazing experience in the NHSD Music Department, playing in the New Hope-Solebury High School Jazz Band & Concert Band for the past three years, and having the opportunity to sing in the Chamber Choir my freshman year. My confidence has grown as a musician, and my love of music has been immensely enriched. The music education I have received has been transformative and will continue to fuel my love of music beyond high school.”

To qualify for the Best Communities designation, New Hope-Solebury School District answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program, and community music-making programs. Responses were verified by school officials and reviewed by the leading arts educational research firm, WolfBrown.
