Our Student Equity Committee, Model United Nations Club, ESL Club, and Multicultural Club combined efforts to host another successful Cultural Heritage Night this year. Families had the opportunity to sample new cuisines, play cultural games and instruments, see performances of traditional dance, and to contribute to an "All Are Welcome Here" art project. Our youngest Lions came equipped with passport books to document the various countries they explored. Thank you to our community for such an incredible turnout for the event! đź”— More Photos: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBhACF đź”— Feature: https://buckscountyherald.com/stories/new-hope-solebury-school-hosts-successful-cultural-heritage-night,43764?

Our sixth grade students have been exploring video footage and primary documents, engaging in class discussions, and writing reflections in preparation for reading literature about the World Wars and the Holocaust. To deepen their perspective and historical understanding, Holocaust survivor Peter Stern was welcomed to share his firsthand experiences. "His story helped our students to see that the Holocaust happened to individuals living out their lives, as they are, before being targeted and uprooted," said faculty member Heather Derby.

Congratulations to #NHSD multimedia students, Mia Patino, Mycayla Canlas, Madie Thistlewaite, and Adam Stiefel, who won the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association's PSA State Competition for videos warning about the dangers of opioid abuse. Their video, titled “The Monster” will be broadcast on the PCN network and live in the arena at halftime of this year’s series of PIAA basketball championships. "It is amazing when you consider that these students had never edited or captured video footage before this year. Not only did this group succeed in bringing their vision to life, but they excelled in a very tight and competitive field this PIAA competition receives yearly," said STEAM faculty member Richard Curtis.
